During croatian national champs in Mallnitz in march this year I`ve received an invitation for international extreme sports festival that was supposed to be held in june 2009 in Montenegro, a small country between Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Albania, situated on the Adriatic coast. Main point of this event was to promote extreme sports on Balkan, and to gather some of the most valuable riders from each sport from Balkan area, so they could film some material together, which will be later edited into a movie and presented to the media and to the people.

My good friend Sandro a.k.a Sanix a.k.a LEVAT was also invited as a kitesurfer, and Ana Rumiha a.k.a Nasty a.k.a Polarni Medvjed also received invitation, as one of the best girls on snowboard not only in Balkan area, but in Europe. So, I thought that it would be cool to go there for a while, see some different roads, countries and people… I was pretty sick of Austria back then, same old Austria, same old roads, same old highways… Montenegro sounded to me like a huge fun, especially when I read that all athletes will stay at beautiful beach of „Ada Bojana“ for the first 4 days, where they will promote „beach“ extreme sports such as wakeboarding, wakeskateing, kitesurfing, paragliding, FMX, free climbing …

After 4 days at beach, all „snow“ athletes were supposed to go on a near mountain, actually more glacier, and climb 2500 meters up to hit some kicker that will be made by some local guys. So, 4 days of surfing and chillin at the beach, 1 day of climbing the mountain, 1 day of hitting some bad-shaped jump, around 3000 km in 6 days, and – most important – payed acommodation and food for the promoters – were the facts I was considering while taking decision about this trip. Meanwhile, one more guy from Croatia was invited, our good friend and biggest snowboard bum ever – Grega. As soon as I have decided that I`m going on this trip, I went on Dachstein for a 2 weeks trip so I had no time to plan everything. When I came back from Dachstein, 2 days before leaving for Montenegro, i didn`t really now how are we going to get there. Sandro had a broken car, Grega had no car at all, and my sexmobil was also not available this time. Thats why Sandro, Grega and me decided to take a rent-a-car and go down there to Montenegro. (ana was going with andy 2 days after us). Rent-a-car was a bit expensive idea, but fuck it everything was payed once when we get down there so we didnt care that much.

On Monday, 15.6.2009 I went to Zagreb with a bus, and original plan was that we´re going to meet in Zagreb and go searching for a rent-a-car. Grega picked me up on a bus station with his bike (what a bum :D ) so we went to his flat to leave my stuff and wait for Sandro. When we all finally met, Grega told us that he has no passport but that he`ś pretty sure about going in Montenegro only with his ID card. I was not really sure about that so we went to the closest police station where they told us exactly what I was thinking of. Grega couldnt`t go, and Sandro an me were not really motivated to pay rent-a-car for only two of us. I was already thinking about going back to Rijeka and chill there for few days and go back to Schladming, but then I realized that I`ve promised to the organizers that I will come, and if I fuck it up there is no one to promote snowboard there. Then i remembered my friend Sanda from Belgrade, I knew that she is going down there to the festival as well, so I thought maybe she had some extra places for me an Sandro. Her car was full, but she connected us with some cool guys, journalist that were going to the festival to make some review of it in their magazine.

Sandro and me went on a first train to Belgrade, at midnight , got there in 6 in the morning and continued with those journalist down to Ada Bojana beach. There is like 550 km between Belgrade and Montenegro, but it takes like 13 hours to get down there, because road is super fucked up, and there is no highway at all. Trip was pretty heavy, but once when we got there we realized that it was worth to travel so much for this place. The beach, as well as the whole area, is so pretty and different from our coast that I thought that we came to Africa, not to some ex-yu country. Everything was reminding us on african savana down there, sand, plants, houses, beach… I was that stoked about the surrounding that i was really axpecting african animals all around, including ringtail lemurs J We spent first 4 days at beach, surfing (4×4 quad was pulling us with the rope), trying to kitesurfing, chilling, partying and enjoying sun and the beach. 5th day of the festival was our turn to showoff some and to promote snowboarding. Most of the crew stayed at the beach or went home (including lazy kitesurfers) while we packed our stuff and left for the glacier. After 150 kilometers we came to the place, and picked our sherpa at some village near Durmitor glacier. Durmitor Glacier is a national park, and thats why we were not able to go straight to the start of the walking route up there with our bags, cameras and equipment. Luckily, some super rich serbian bussinesman was following us on our EXTREMEEE adventures through Montenegro so he pulled like 100 euros from his pocket and gave them to the national park ranger who opened the ramp instantly and let us in. So, after a 3 and a half hours of hiking up to the mountain we came to the place. Lots of snow, but unexpirienced locals made the worst kicker ever. We jumped the kicker like 5 times, only for the cam and photos and went down. As soon as we came to the hotel I went sleeping, cause those 5 days were exhausting. Next day we were on our road back to Croatia, with car to Belgrade, then train to Zagreb and bus to Rijeka. Sick trip and nice expirience!

It´s good to be back on dachstein :)

Hello punks.

I just got back home from Vogel mtn (slowenian alps) and that trip was so exciting that I just need to put sum word on a paper. The trip started with croatian national championships in „Big Air“ ( check the apostrophes) that was held in Mallnitz during the weekend (03.-05.4.2009). Only good thing about this contest is the fact that there were almost all croatian riders, including little youngsters and some guys from other clubs that i havent see for a while. „Kicker“ on which contest was supposed to be held was a real disaster, and no one was motivated to ride that shit. But fuck it, national champs is a thing that must be done only beacuse administration and we all just came there to party and hit that kicker only on our contest run :D

One day we were lucky that Mallnitz resort was closed beacuse some avalanche problems, so contest was postponed (yeah :D ) and we went to a nearby Bad Gastein snowpark where we found really nice shaped park with a lot of good obstacles. We had the best session that day, jumping 4 kickers in line and enjoying nice music in the park. And then, we got back to fucking Mallnitz :( :D

After 3 days of chilling, partying and jumping the worst kicker ever in Mallnitz, we went to Vogel, super happy about good weather that is waiting for us there. Next day we went up early and found out that snow is pretty slushy already and that there is no chance to ride kickers. But it was perfect for rails, and I was riding nice double kinked rail and downrail for whole 6 days, together with Anja, Ana, Nejc, Oblak, Hartz and other hahars :D we filmed lots of dope shots for our next movie and im pretty stoked about it. During are stay on Vogel some friends of ours came to visit us and to snowboard in Vogel snowpark. Jojo, Chips and Renich showed up from nowhere, and stayed there 2 days with us. It was really nice to hang out with them, especcialy with my good friend Chips who brought me some nice presents across the border :)

Im back home now, really sick of double kinked rails :D and ready to go up in the hills soon.

P.S Langus hahare thanks for the season ticket, you really saved my budget :)

HAAHAAARIIIIII !!!

Fuck, its really hard to collect all thoughts together from our crazy trip to Macedonia. There was some FIS Big Air and Slopestyle contest, so our association payed us to go there and to collect some „super-important“ FIS points for our association. It sounded really interesting, Macedonia has really nice mountains and we were there also last year and it was great. We always like to go to this „weird“ countries cause contests there are ussualy pretty chillout and there are always some good spots for filming beside the contest. We started our trip at around 8h, when i picked up my Tribe Films crew Maja, Duk, Dux and Nito. 2h later we picked up Chad in Zagreb, and we were on our way to Macedonia, via Belgrade, Niš and Skopje. I had enough of this trip already at Belgrade. My super electronic equipment was dead. My laptop, mp3.. Everything. I couldnt even play my Gameboy Color cause it was either too sunny or too dark all the time. And those Nitendo ninjas didnt know how to put fuckin backlight on Gameboy back in 90s :D As soon as we passed Serbian-Macedonian border i felt like driving to nowhere. Bumpy highways, sick wild west style gas stations and crazy dogs lying and running everywhere on the roads. Some roads were that fucked up, that i imagined we are in some apocalyptic world waiting for a Mad Max to show up with an empty bottle of gasoline :D After hours and hours of driving trough Macedonia we finally reached little village called Gevgelije. We realized were we are actually when we started to receive “Welcome to Greece” text messages on our mobile phones :D :D Just after this village there was a mountain road to our destination, ski-center „Kožuf“. It was already around 23h and we were super tired. As soon as we approached the entrance of this mtn road, some local guy stopped us and said to us that the road is pretty icy and fucked up after first 7 km. We checked out our chains, made sure that they fit our tyres and we went up praising the lord that we dont get stucked in the snow. But it seems that lord was pretty busy that evening :D we got stucked several times on that road, so most of the time we were pushing the van up and running after him. The scene was sick, no cars and people around, no lights, no houses, nothing… Just snow, ice and foxes running around. After 15 km of skatchy driving our van stopped on one really icy uphill. And we were just 1 km from the place. We tried everything. Pushing the van did not worked as well as bunch of people sitting in the front of the van to put some pressure on the front tyres. At least we learned smthing – dont piss in front of the tyres – it wont work :D :D :D That road was so icy that our van was sliding down every time someone step into it, even with a handbrake on. At that point we realized that we`re really fucked up. We called our friend and organizor of the contest, Kiril, to help us out. He said that he will be there with a tractor in few minutes. Finally he came and attached our van to a tractor. Tractor pulled us up and in few minutes we were already in our apartment. Next day was a training day. We woke up and realized that restaurant is 1 km away from our aparment. But organizor took care of it and we had our driver with super sick Majindra Jeep that was driving us to chair lift and restaurant whenever we wanted. After breakfast we went to snowpark to check out kicker and obstacles. It was not perfect, but it was cool to ride. After training we went to luch where we realized that macedonian food is soooo good. Next day was FIS Big Air contest. It was a pretty chill out and fun atmosphere and it was really nice session. All croats did good, i`ve got on a third place, and my bulgarian friend Dimi Chokoev won the contest. Slopestyle was even better next day. Again, all croats had nice runs and good results. My brother-from-a-different-mother Toni finished second, and i was third. Dux was also good and he finished 4th. Dimi destroyed set up again, and won the contest. After contest we realized that it would be cool to go to Belgrade that evening, to split up driving and to spent night and party in Belgrade. But we came to Belgrade pretty late, around 1 in the morning. We went straight to McDonalds and then we realized that we are super tired and not motivated to party at all. We went to sleep and next day we decided to go on a sightseeing (sooo sick street rails!) and to Belgrade zoo. Zoo was a really nice and funny experience, and we were again on the road, driving home to Croatia.

It was a cool trip for beginning of the winter season, and a nice opportunity to get used on the icy winter conditions after slushy summer season. although there was only beginner park opened, because of lack of snow, we were shredding hard 6 days, filming some small creative shit for our new video and having fun with our austrian, hungarian, macedonian and bulgarian friends. the weather was super good, sunny during 5 days and then foggy for a day. beginner park is nice and well shaped, so if you are a creative rider you will not be bored there for sure!
peace and see ya soon above the clouds, vid
